Beaverton is a little bit suburban, a little bit weird, and way more interesting than people give it credit for. There are midcentury houses hiding on tree lined streets, brand new neighborhoods, great little restaurants, ridiculously good food tucked into unassuming strip malls, parks everywhere, and pockets that feel completely different from one another even though they’re five minutes apart. You can be close to Portland without actually having to live in Portland, which, depending on the day, can feel like a pretty solid life choice. Want walkable? Quiet? A giant yard? No HOA?
